1. Scarves, Sweaters & Jackets
With cooler weather approaching, we have to keep our pooches warm & cozy.
In the beginning of fall, depending on the breed of dog you have, you may begin to transition into the cooler weather with a sweater. This will just be enough to cut the chill of the air to keep your pup warm when going out for their business or going on a walk.
During sweater weather, we suggest you get your pooch a nice warm jacket. It doesn’t take long for the colder weather to start, and you have to ensure that your dog is ready with a cozy jacket to protect them from the elements outside. A lined jacket with waterproofing is ideal, as it will help to wick away any moisture from rain, sleet or snow!
On particularly cold days, don’t be scared to put a scarf or bandana on your pooch - it's stylish and functional on cutting the cold.
2. Warm & Cozy Bed
During fall & into winter, it’s ideal to bulk up your dog’s bed. If they’re in need of a new bed, be sure to buy a comfy one with nice sides on it, so your dog is able to curl up and snuggle during the colder months. You can also add blankets & old comforters to your dog’s bed for added comfort and warmth.
3. Pumpkin Please
I’ll take a pupkin spice latte please. Pumpkin season isn’t just for the pawrents! Now, you won’t actually be giving your pup a spiced latte or a pumpkin pie anytime soon (sorry pooches), but pumpkin itself is very beneficial for dogs’ digestion.
Treats with pumpkin are ideal, as they are both tasty and good for your dog’s stomach. They also contain a safe amount of pumpkin for your dogs.
But, don’t go giving your pups loads of pumpkin because like most things in life, too much of it can be harmful.
4. Toys, Toys and More Toys!
During the cooler months, it may be harder to get your pups outside as much as you’d like to entertain them and burn some energy. You have to keep them entertained and their minds stimulated. Time to get your furry friends some new toys! Does your dog loving chewing shoes? Get them their own pugg boot to chew on! Toy options are endless and are an easy way to bring joy & entertainment to you and your beloved pup.
5. Treats (with omega-3s)
I know that, as dog moms and dads, we want to buy our dogs the tastiest treats. Bacon? Yes, please! But there is another ingredient we should be keeping our eyes on during Autumn - Omega 3s! That’s because Omega-3s help to build a dog’s natural coat, so they are able to grow a naturally warm coat in time for the winter months.
